Cabos, Chico, CA.

January 12, 1984. The cassette liner indicates that this was 28th Day's third appearance at Cabos, although i don't think recordings exist of the first two. We opened this evening for Brent Lewis and the Night Knights. A lively, well attended show and a tight set. The version of Part II here is probably my (Pete's) favorite live recording of this song - to hear Barbara telling everyone to lay down on the floor and then say, "come on you guys, get in to the spirit of this fucking thing" still cracks me up! It also contains the "Jesse's Girl" version of Reality is Contraception.

- Barbara Manning, vocals
- Cole Marquis, guitar
- Pete Beck, bass
- Mike Cloward, drums

not sure what deck was used to record this. it could have been the RudeSpot studio Hitachi deck, but most probably was the Cabos house cassette deck attached to the sound board. this is a board recording with crowd fill mics, a step up from many of our earlier live recordings. the original cassette was digitally mastered April 2012 by Pete Beck using Audacity 1.3 and Lame Encoder.
